Convenor

Emma Taylor, Dr

LSE Fellow at London School of Economics & Political Science

Emma Taylor has over 12 years of experience teaching Geography to secondary school students in London. Alongside teaching, she has recently undertaken the role of Research Lead at the school in which she currently works. Her research role involves supporting the use of evidence-based practice at the school through enabling greater access to the latest educational research. She has set up a collaboration with the UCL Institute of Education to support colleagues who wish to undertake research into their own practice, as well as carrying out two long-term action research projects of her own at the school. She is particularly interested in the use of qualitative research techniques and peer research methodologies as part of this process. Emma is also a part-time PhD candidate in the Sociology Department at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research uses ethnographic methods to explore the micro- practices of elite formation taking place in independent schools in London.
