Short, research-informed yet accessible introductions to key, interdisciplinary topics impacting education research and practice
Published in partnership with Emerald Publishing, The BERA Guides series offers short, research-informed yet accessible introductions to key, interdisciplinary topics impacting education research and practice.
Books in the series present a summary of the research on the topic, charting how the scholarly thought and practice on the issue has evolved over time, and provide key takeaways and suggestions for research and practice. With books in the series viewed as research and practice ‘primers’ on each topic, the series is for use by a broad academic audience, including early career and established researchers, postgraduate students, as well as practitioners where appropriate. The books draw on international literature to provide a true synthesis of the scholarly literature.

If you are interested in writing for the series, please contact Kirsty Woods, Commissioning Editor at Emerald Publishing, kwoods@emerald.com, to discuss this opportunity further.
Written in shortform (between 35,000 and 50,000 words in length including references) and in an accessible and readable style – suitable for postgraduate students (including MA students) and for scholars in disciplines outside of education research, books in the series address key interdisciplinary topics impacting education research and practice. Efforts are being made to keep up with emerging trends, concerns, and discussions within the education research and practice communities.
