Dr Zoe Lewis is a Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Education, teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Birmingham City University. Her doctoral research explored young children’s creativity in an art gallery and forest school setting through a relational materialist lens. This theoretical framing underpins Zoe’s current research interests in exploring children’s play-based learning environments and our entangled relationships with nature, the material world and each other. Her recent projects have explored the relational nature of graduate employment in early childhood settings and the power of creative pedagogies to foster engagement and a sense of belonging in the context of higher education.
