Zhanat Tutesheva is a PhD Candidate at the School of Education, University of Bristol, United Kingdom. ‘Parental engagement in the learning of their children with SEND in the context of inclusive education development in Kazakhstan’ Zhanat’s doctoral research focuses on exploring the ecologies of parental engagement in the learning of children with SEND in Kazakhstan. It looks at understanding how parental engagement is structured in policies, actual parental lived experiences and ways of improving the future of parental engagement policies and practices. Zhanat will present her work in progress of qualitative research, discussing the conceptualisation of parental engagement in policy documents, as
well as actual parental experiences of engagement.
