Uzma Asif is a lecturer on the PGCE Secondary (science) programme at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has 14 years of experience as a secondary school teacher of science in various contexts in Manchester. She has held positions of responsibility including head of biology. She has pursued postgraduate studies in education and has recently taken up a position in higher education. Her doctoral thesis explores the identity and image of female Muslim teachers and their implications in education.
