I am currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Edinburgh. My current research focuses on teacher agency represented by different elements, such as identity, emotion, and reflexivity, and also the relationship between agency and structure/culture. My doctoral dissertation is located in a Chinese migrant school with complicated structural conditions which raise challenges for teacher agency. Before the Ph.D., I used to be an English teacher in this migrant school, so I handle all the data in the dual roles of an insider and an outsider with deep self-reflection throughout the process.
