Simon Probert is currently in the final year of his Doctorate in Education at the University of Bath. He is a research-practitioner and has spent the past 12 years working in British International Schools in Asia, currently working as deputy head in a British school in Shanghai. In this time, he has developed a particular interest in interactions with local and British culture, his thesis examining local students’ perceptions and understandings of internationalism. He has further explored these areas in two papers published in the Journal of Research in International Education in the past 18 months, one focusing on the evolving sector in China and one on Asia more broadly.
