BERA Staff
Ross Fulton
Publications Manager at BERA
Ross joined BERA as Publications Manager in November 2017 to oversee the Association’s four peer-reviewed journals, our member’s magazine Research Intelligence, the BERA Blog and our website; to support editors and editorial boards; to develop BERA’s publications portfolio and processes; and to manage day-to-day relationships with publishing partners.
His previous role was Managing Editor at the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), a social and economic policy think-tank, providing editorial, design and production management of research reports and other outputs, including in-house academic journal IPPR Progressive Review (formerly Juncture), as well as overseeing the website. Prior to that he worked as an editor in commercial and academic publishing for over seven years, at Bloomsbury Publishing, the Quarto Group and Tara Books, and in marketing for Oxford University Press.
Ross completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh in 2006, gaining an MA (Hons) in English Literature. In 2017 he completed an MSc in Sociological Research at the University of Manchester, his dissertation for which investigated how the experience of having a parent admitted to residential care affected how their adult-children in ‘early old age’ think about their own later lives.
