Rose Doherty, Miss

Lancaster University

I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology (BSc) in 2018, followed by my master's degree in Applied Social and Political Psychology (MSc) in 2020 and I am currently studying for my PhD in Educational Research at Lancaster University. I am now in my fourth and final year of my PhD, after having my first three years funded by the NWSSDTP PhD studentship.

My PhD research focuses on online misogyny and the impact it has on university students in the UK, whilst also exploring educational resources in this area. I hope to use this research as a starting point to develop useful educational resources for young people in the UK surrounding the topics of online misogyny, online gender-based violence and online misogynistic extremism, whilst also gaining a better understanding of the impact these topics have on young people.
