Robbie is a PhD researcher at Sheffield Institute of Education supported by The Edge Foundation and science teacher at XP School. The focus of his doctoral research is the interaction between practices of teacher curriculum making and professional learning, specifically in active science. His interest in this area stems from a visit to America in 2013 to see if the claims about innovative curricula at High Tech High, EL Education, Uncommon Schools and many more were true. He has been at XP School since 2017, the last two as Science Lead across the Trust. XP School, Doncaster was inspected by Ofsted in 2017 and was awarded Outstanding in all categories. The first set of GCSE results in 2019 were very strong.
