Richard Watkins is the research and evaluation lead for the Regional School Effectiveness and Improvement Service for North Wales (GwE). He is an honorary senior research associate at Bangor University where he helps direct the work of the Collaborative Institute for Education Research, Evidence and Impact (CIEREI), and he is also an associate fellow at the Centre for Educational Development, Appraisal and Research (CEDAR) at the University of Warwick. Richard’s work and research interests focus on the application of evidence-based teaching strategies in schools, and he coordinates a range of evidence into action projects with the Welsh Government and university partners across Wales.
