Rachel Lofthouse, Dr

Former professor of teacher education at Leeds Beckett University

Rachel Lofthouse is former professor of teacher education at Leeds Beckett University, England. She founded CollectivED, a research and practice centre with a focus on coaching, mentoring and professional learning. Rachel has been engaged in supporting coaching and mentoring in education for almost three decades, as a practitioner, researcher and professional development facilitator. Her work has allowed her to engage with and lead local, national and international professional and academic networks. Before joining Leeds Beckett University Rachel worked as a secondary teacher and middle leader in schools in the North East of England and as a teacher educator, researcher and course director at Newcastle University. Rachel retired after 34 years as an educator to pursue a new career drawing on her skills of dialogue, support and advocacy.
