Päivi-Sisko Eerola works as a Senior Research Administrator for the Arts and Humanities Faculty Research Team at Durham University. Previously, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Durham University School of Education. The projects that she contributed to as a research assistant, ranged from evaluating Widening Participation programmes in higher education (funded by Sutton Trust 2013-2015) and conducting qualitative analysis into the changes in the practical work of science exams at GCSE and A Level (funded by GATSBY 2016-2019) to evaluating Early Years Language interventions (funded by EFF 2020-2023). Paivi’s own interests lie in music education. She has studied the long-term and social impacts of extended music education (in 2024 and 2014) and in 2010 she evaluated the volume of music teacher training in Finland. Paivi has an MA in music education and an MPhil in musicology from the University of Jyväskylä in Finland.
