Nigel Fancourt is Associate Professor of Education and Values at the Department of Education, University of Oxford, and Director of Doctoral Research. Formerly a lawyer and teacher, his research interests are in law and human rights in education, particularly around questions of freedom of religion and belief. His recent monograph examines the judicial pedagogies of the European Court of Human Rights, arguing that it adopts incoherent pedagogies across different cases.
