Nicole Mockler, Associate Professor

Associate Professor of Education at University of Sydney

Dr Nicole Mockler is Associate Professor of Education, based at the Sydney School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney. Her research and writing primarily focuses on education policy and politics, particularly as they frame teachers’ work, professional identity and professional learning. She is co-author/editor of 14 books, and her recent scholarly books include Questioning the Language of improvement and reform in education: Reclaiming meaning (Routledge, 2018, with Susan Groundwater-Smith). She is currently working on a monograph on representations of teachers in the print media from 1996 to 2020, to be published by Bloomsbury in 2022. Nicole is currently Editor in Chief of The Australian Educational Researcher, a member of the Editorial Board of the British Educational Research Journal and the International Advisory Board of Educational Action Research.
