Nathan Fretwell is a senior lecturer in education and early childhood in the Department of Education at Middlesex University, UK. The main focus of his research lies in exploring relationships between families and educational settings and services. He has research interests and expertise across education and family policy, home-school relations, educational activism and the philosophy of education. Alongside continuing to investigate parental activism in education, Nathan is currently conducting research into the use of family support workers in schools. Nathan’s work has been published in leading Education journals, including the British Educational Research Journal and Educational Philosophy and Theory; and, in collaboration with Lee Jerome, he is currently writing a book for Policy Press on analysing education policy.
