Mirela Scorțescu has been a primary school teacher for 26 years. She is deputy director at the Secondary School no. 30 Timisoara. From 2012 acts as school-based teacher educator (SBTE) for pre-service and in-service primary school teachers. Mirela is university practicum coordinator for Primary and Preschool Education Pedagogy (PIPP) students at West University of Timisoara and is researching there on how to improve the practicum of students, as a Ph.D. student in Educational Sciences.
