Mel Green, Mrs

Lecturer in Education Studies at The Open University

Mel Green is a lecturer in Education Studies and EdD doctoral researcher at the Open University (OU). Her current EdD research explores the intersections of OU associate lecturers’ personal and professional identities and how these affect their online teaching practices. In October 2023, Mel published a co-authored article, with Dr Claire Malcom from the Open University, titled ‘The promise of anti-racist assessment’ in a special edition of Frontiers in Sociology: Dismantling racial inequalities in higher education. Her forthcoming book, ‘Mothering at the Margins’, again co-authored with Dr Malcolm, combines collective autoethnography and participant research to detail the experiences of Black women raising autistic children in the UK.
