Megan Stephenson, Mrs

Associate Professor in Professional Practice at Leeds Trinity University

Megan Stephenson is an associate professor in Professional Practice at Leeds Trinity University (LTU) and has recently led the ITT Reaccreditation. Her roles at LTU have included Primary PGCE programme lead, Early Reading and Phonics Curriculum Coordinator and Academic Partnership Lead. Megan has a growing set of published works across her field of expertise. She recently published the core text Training to be a Primary School Teacher: ITT and Beyond. Prior to working in higher education, Megan taught for more than 20 years in primary provision across the North of England where she led on Phonics and Early Reading, and trained as a Reading Recovery teacher and trainer. She has presented at national conferences in the UK on her approach to developing ‘Inspirational Teacher Education’. Megan is currently studying for a Doctorate in Education at York St John University, where she is researching transformational pedagogical approaches across Teacher Education.
