PhD researcher at University of Leeds

Marianne Talbot is a post-transfer PhD researcher at the University of Leeds School of Education. Her area of interest is the impact of professional development in educational assessment on assessors, including qualified teachers, university lecturers, and those assessing in professional workplace environments. Her research focuses on their assessment practice, and their influence on the practice of others around them, perceptions of assessment expertise, confidence to deploy that expertise, and the assessment identity of Chartered Educational Assessors. Her experience is in qualifications, curriculum, and assessment development and evaluation, project management including impact and risk assessments, independent evaluation of outreach and widening participation activities, and course leadership for the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors, based at the University of Hertfordshire.
