Lisa R. Miller is a professor in the elementary school teacher preparation programme at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka. Her PhD is in social sciences and comparative education from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests include foreign language teacher training, instructional programme development and study abroad. She has trained teachers and led instructional programmes in Japan, Madagascar and the United States.
