Kayden Schumacher, Dr

Research Fellow at Coventry University

Dr. Kayden J. Schumacher (they/he) is a dedicated scholar, researcher, lecturer, and school counselor committed to advancing gender, sexuality, and feminist perspectives in education and the social sciences. Kayden is currently a Research Fellow at Coventry University working on a Horizon Europe project called YOUROPE, which examines young people's grass roots pedagogy of democracy across several contexts. Recently completing a PhD studentship at Coventry University’s Centre for Global Learning, their research examines the experiences of transgender and gender-diverse students and educators in the English education system, with a focus on mental health, educational policy, technology, and resistance. Kayden is passionate about fostering inclusive educational environments through democratic processes, collaboration, and participatory research methods. Their work aims to bridge research, policy, and practice to drive meaningful change in education and gender studies on a global scale.
