Distinguished University Professor and Associate Dean at Western University

Dr. Kathy Hibbert is a Distinguished University Professor, former Acting Dean and Associate Dean at Western’s Faculty of Education, in London Canada. Her research examines how our abilities to ‘read’ texts, and to use and understand multimedia or other technologies, shapes our ability to communicate and learn across contexts. She is also interested in the sociomateriality of practice, and how it influences and reifies working conditions and our collective capacity. She is the inaugural Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Research in Curriculum as a Social Practice and medical education researcher with the Centre for Research Education and Innovation at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. .
