Kaidong Guo is a doctoral student at University College London. He also serves as a research assistant for the project ‘Tackling Ethical Challenges in Research with Children: Contextualising Children’s Rights in China’. His doctoral research explores the long-term and often invisible impacts of slow violence on the family dynamics of Chinese liushou families, as well as how these families navigate the challenges of maintaining their family lives in the face of omnipresent slow violence. His recent work, in collaboration with Professor Spyrou, was published in Children’s Geographies and explores the pathologisation of left-behind children globally.
