Joyce Nutta, Professor

Professor of World Languages Education at University of Central Florida

Dr. Joyce Nutta is Professor of World Languages Education and the ESOL Endorsement and TESOL PhD Track Coordinator at the University of Central Florida. Her research interests include the integration of second language instructional practices into teacher preparation and professional learning and the use of technology to teach second languages. Dr. Nutta has been awarded over $10,000,000 in research and training grants, and her research has been published in the Journal of Teacher Education, Hispania, Foreign Language Annals, TESOL Journal, and CALICO Journal, among other journals. Dr. Nutta is lead author of a book series about teaching second language learners published by Harvard Education Press, and her most recent book, English Learners at Home and at School: Stories and Strategies, uses storytelling to contextualize second language acquisition research and theory for teachers of all subject matters and grade levels.
