Dr Gaynor Legall is Chair of Tiger Bay Heritage Culture Exchange. Gaynor Chaired the pioneering audit to challenge commemoration in Wales ‘The Slave Trade and The British Empire Report’ published by Welsh Government in 2021 with recommendations stirring a catalyst for change in monuments, museums and practice across Wales. Gaynor has long been a leader in race equality community activism and equal rights for women’s rights in Wales. Gaynor was a founder member of Wales historic and globally respected Anti-Apartheid movement. Gaynor was the first Black female Councillor in Wales. She has established a number voluntary organisations such as FullEmploy Wales and BAWSO the first Black domestic violence focused organisation in Wales.
