Emily Perry, Professor

Head of Sheffield Institute of Education Centre for Research and Knowledge Exchange at Sheffield Hallam University

I am Deputy Head of the Centre for Development and Research in Education and Head of Funded Knowledge Exchange for Sheffield Institute of Education (SIOE). My work centres on the development, delivery, evaluation and research of teachers’ professional learning. Research studies relating to these themes include variations across career stages, professional development leadership and quality assurance, and school structures to support improved professional learning.

I lead SIOE’s Practice, Innovation and Professional Learning Research Group, which forms a key mechanism for collaborative research, bidding and writing focussed on the themes of the studentship. I am a member of groups including the International Professional Development Association’s England committee and the Universities’ Council for the Education of Teachers’ CPD Forum.
