Emily Asbury is a member of the English team at Bath Spa University where she leads the English component of the Early Years ITT programme and works with a colleague on the Teach First programme. A former primary school teacher, Emily has taught across the Early Years foundation stage and key stages 1 and 2; led creative curriculum and literacy staff teams; headed a teacher research group focused on reading development, and completed a Master’s in education which explored gender gaps in primary writing attainment. Emily’s research interests include equality in educational attainment and international perspectives on reading and early literacy.
