Elizabeth Walton, Professor

Professor of Education at University of Nottingham

Dr Elizabeth Walton is a Professor of Education at the University of Nottingham, UK, and a visiting Professor at the School of Education, University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. She researches topics that advance the theory and practice of inclusive education, drawing on concepts and methods from the sociology of knowledge, critical and decolonial theories, theories of multimodality and visual design, and posthumanism. She is the author of The Knowledge of inclusive education (Routledge, Forthcoming) and The Language of inclusive education (Routledge, 2016). She is a co-convenor of the UNESCO Chair in Teacher Education for Diversity and Development, a trustee of Ormiston Academies Trust, and a member of The Academy of Science of South Africa. In addition to her academic work, Elizabeth has responsibility for the happiness and well-being of two demanding cats.
