Person
I am a dedicated PhD researcher at the University of Bath, specializing in the lived experiences of international students at Western higher education institutions. My work critically examines how individual experiences intersect with broader structural factors, such as education policy, to provide a holistic understanding of international students' challenges and opportunities. Through the lenses of feminism and postcolonial theory, I explore issues of belonging, identity, and power dynamics within academic environments. I utilize creative research methods, including narrative inquiry and arts-based approaches, to capture rich, diverse data that reflects the complexities of these students' journeys.
My academic journey is deeply interdisciplinary. I hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in TESOL, which equip me with a unique skill set that blends technical proficiency with linguistic and educational expertise. This combination allows me to approach my research from multiple perspectives, integrating quantitative analysis with qualitative insights.
I am passionate about exploring how technology can enhance educational experiences for international students. My computer science background informs my interest in developing innovative, data-driven solutions to address the systemic challenges international students face. I am actively seeking research opportunities that merge my expertise in computer science with my deep interest in education, aiming to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in educational technology and policy reform.
