Claire Goodley, Dr

Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University

Claire taught in secondary comprehensive schools for nearly twenty years before making the transition to working in Higher Education in 2016. She has worked on both primary and secondary ITE programmes, and led part-time and full-time Masters programmes. She is currently the programme leader for the MA in Educational Leadership, working with a large cohort of full-time international students as well as current educational leaders who are in practice. Claire completed her Doctorate in Education in 2019 and her research focusses on the lived experience of the teacher and school leader in neoliberal times, which can be split into three strands: 1. teacher success, disappointment and attrition as a response to performative practices and market values in the workplace; 2. dialogic and compassionate teaching practice in Postgraduate taught programmes and 3. The effects of digital technology on pedagogy and curriculum.
