Chris Husbands, Professor

Professor Chris Husbands is Director of the Institute of Education, University of London – the UK’s premier centre for education research and development and one of the world’s
leading graduate schools of Education. He was a teacher in urban comprehensive schools, where he was rapidly promoted to senior management before moving into higher education.

He has worked as an adviser to local authorities, OFSTED, the National Trust, the Department for Education and to universities in the UK, Singapore, Russia and Norway. He has served on the boards of two examination groups and a non-departmental public body. He is also a Board member at Universities UK. He has written extensively on school improvement, teacher quality and education policy.
