Ben Broadhurst is a qualified teacher and has recently completed a degree in primary English education with qualified teacher status at Edge Hill University. He is interested in the mental health and wellbeing of trainee and qualified teachers. He is passionate about how best to champion LGBTQ+ educators and pupils to feel supported in school and wider society within key decision-making. Ben believes all teachers, to an extent, should have autonomy and teachers have the right, if they are experiencing poor wellbeing and mental health, to speak to schools about this and be supported by school leaders. Above all, Ben is striving to break down the barriers around the prejudice related to mental health in schools and is interested in purposeful strategies that assist teachers in maintaining healthy wellbeing.
