Alex Carabine is a fourth-year doctoral candidate within the School of the Arts at the University of Liverpool, and her research examines the influences of medieval culture on nineteenth-century Gothic fiction. She is a research assistant, comic collaborator and digital content creator for the ‘Drawing on Forced Marriage: Teaching Tough Topics Through Comics’ project. She has written on comics as part of her BA and MA studies in English Literature, and during her PhD she has worked as a graduate teaching assistant, where she taught undergraduate and master’s students. She has also designed workshops to encourage at-risk secondary school students to apply for university.
