HEA Project – Teaching and Learning Issues in the Disciplines

The Higher Education Academy (HEA) is seeking to partner leading learned societies and PSRBs (Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies) to conduct research into the state of higher education learning and teaching in a wide range of subjects. BERA has been invited to take part in this and is looking for members or other interested parties to help us.

The full project brief can be downloaded from this page but the role/s involve organising and moderating three focus groups of BERA members and compiling the final report based on these discussions. There is limited support from the BERA office in publicising the events and framing the final report but we are looking for someone who can largely work on their own initiative. There is a fee available for this work. Moderators do not have to be experts in either higher education or in the subject/discipline of the PSRB/Learned Society but they should follow the Market Research Society Code of Conduct and ideally would be part of a company that is a registered Market Research Society Company Partner.[1] If necessary, this can be contracted separtely from the fee for the organisation and report writing elements of this project.

The deadline for completion of this work is Wednesday 15th July.

If you think you could take on this task or certain elements of this, please send an expression of interest addressed to Nick Johnson, Executive Director by 5pm on Friday 15th May. Those repsonses should be sent to admin@bera.ac.uk and marked ‘HEA Project’ in the title.
