Invitation to write an article for a special section of Research Intelligence (issue 155 – summer 23)

BERA’s Higher Education (HE) and Practitioner Research special interest groups (SIGs) have started the process of producing a special section of Research Intelligence, BERA’s members’ magazine, that will focus exclusively on the theme of:

Teacher researchers: Exploring their evolution from connectors to co-creators and the implications for the profession

We are looking for contributions related to the following three themes:

  1. The historical roots of the Teacher as Researcher Movement which would include the perspectives of Stenhouse and also John Dewey and the Pragmatic philosophical movement.

  1. The EEF Toolkit and Research Hub Schools.

  1. A vision of the future? To include a discussion of co-creation and collaboration between research and practice.

Each article should be no longer than 500 words (including references) and will need to be submitted by 27th March 2023.

The guest editors of this special section are happy for anyone to contact them via email with questions, and hope that as many people as possible will take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the excellent work taking place in HE and Practitioner Research.

Please send your expressions of interest by Monday 30th January to Kate Mawson (Kate.mawson@ntu.ac.uk), Emma Taylor (e.s.taylor@lse.ac.uk), and Claire Tyson (c.tyson@homewood.kent.sch.uk) with a short biography that explains the context you currently work in.
