BERA offers concessionary membership fee to support teachers

BERA is dedicated to supporting and promoting teacher research.  We believe practitioners, academics and policy makers must collaborate to help shape a future curriculum in schools.

Over the past year BERA has been working to strengthen our support for teachers working in schools. In 2018 we announced a new partnership with the Chartered College of Teaching, offering their Chartered teacher programme participants BERA membership.

Last month we announced £12,000 in funding for school based research to take place 2018-2019. We also now offer over 20 teacher bursaries to attend our annual conference.

In two weeks we will be publishing the outcomes of a research project looking at dimensions of quality in close-to-practice educational research. This is designed to build a collective recognition of the characteristics of high quality close-to-practice research.

In addition to the above BERA is pleased to announce that for 2019 onwards we will now be offering a concessionary membership fee for full time teachers in schools and colleges.

Gerry Czerniawski, Chair of the BERA Engagement Committee says
I am really excited about this latest initiative from BERA. It is yet another indicator of how keen we are to champion teacher-led research and its transformational impact on education
