This vibrant forum will provide doctoral students and early career researchers with the tools and insights necessary to navigate the intricate world of scholarly communication. The conference approaches academic publishing not merely as a product, but as a process. Topics will cover every stage of the scholarly publishing journey, from selecting appropriate academic outlets and navigating the peer review process to determining the next steps after publication.
In addition, we will delve into overarching and fundamental issues in academic publishing, such as rethinking the notion of “impact” in academic research and examining ethics in academic publishing. Recognising the pressures and challenges faced by doctoral students and early career researchers, our conference will also address the personal and relational aspects of academic publishing, including mental health, well-being, researcher identity, and collaborative relationships.
