This event invites academics, PhD students, early career scholars, educational consultants, and technology developers in higher education to explore the dynamic role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning worldwide. Focusing on perspectives from the Global South, this two-hour online event will foster meaningful dialogue about embedding AI in higher education. We aim to identify and discuss the unique challenges faced by Global South regions in integrating AI, and how international partnerships can open doors to innovative solutions.

Aims and Objectives:

  1. Promote Global Dialogue – Provide a platform for educators and experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities surrounding AI in higher education, with a particular emphasis on the perspectives and needs of the Global South.
  2. Foster Knowledge Exchange and Collaboration – Facilitate discussions that promote international collaboration, encouraging diverse perspectives and building partnerships to advance AI applications in education.
  3. Highlight Best Practices and Strategies – Share practical insights and strategies to harness AI in inclusive, ethical ways that support diverse educational needs and align with BERA’s strategic priorities.
  4. Develop a Network for Continued Engagement – Build a directory of participants interested in ongoing collaboration, contributing to a repository of best practices and practical approaches for AI in education.

Join us for this interactive session, which will include presentations, a panel discussion, and an open Q&A, offering a space for knowledge-sharing and networking among global leaders in AI and education.
