Information for poster presenters
ePosters
Your ePoster will be displayed in the electronic poster gallery online and on the mobile app.
There will also be display screens at the conference displaying the electronic poster gallery.
You do NOT need to bring a physical copy of your poster.
You will have 5 minutes to present your poster in the ePoster session. The 5 minutes does not include Q&A. These will be taken at the end of the session when all posters have been presented.
ePosters should be on one PowerPoint Slide (widescreen format) or PDF only (landscape only).
ePosters will be marked based on the criteria below. The presentations will be scored out of 35.
1 – Weak; 2 – Unsatisfactory; 3 – Satisfactory; 4 – Good; 5 – Very Good
Appearance (20)
- Is the e-poster visually appealing, professional, and well-organised?
- Are fonts, colours, and layout used effectively for readability?
- Does it balance text and visuals (charts, graphs, images) to enhance communication?
- Is the slide free from clutter, excessive text, or distracting elements?
Content (5)
- Does the e-poster effectively present key research elements (title, introduction, methods, results, and conclusions)?
- Is the information clear, concise, and relevant to the research topic?
- Are sources or references appropriately included where necessary?
Originality (5)
- Does the research introduce a novel perspective, approach, or findings?
- Is there creativity in how the topic is framed or visually presented?
- Does the poster stand out from conventional research presentations?
Delivery of presentation (5)
- Is the presenter clear, confident, and engaging?
- Do they effectively explain the research within the 5-minute time limit?
- Is the presentation well-structured, with a logical flow from introduction to conclusion?
- Does the presenter effectively use the e-poster as a visual aid without reading directly from it?
There will be a prize for ePoster presentations. All ePosters will be judged by a member of the BERA Committees. The best ePoster will receive complimentary attendance at the BERA Annual Conference 2026.

Physical Posters
Physical posters will be displayed during the duration of the conference in xxxx, where catering and exhibition is held.
Physical posters should be no larger than A0 size and landscape only.
- All posters should be prepared in advance and brought to the conference by the presenters. We are not able to receive any posters in advance
- There will no facilities on-site for printing or composing posters
- Each poster should be no larger than A0 paper size. This should be landscape only
- You will be provided with materials to mount your poster
You will need to be available by your poster to answer questions from delegates and speak to the judges on the following date and time:
Tuesday 9 September 2025
13:00 – 14:30 AND 16:00 – 16:30
Physical posters will be judged against the following criteria and will be scored out of 40:
1 – Weak; 2 – Unsatisfactory; 3 – Satisfactory; 4 – Good; 5 – Very Good
Appearance (20)
- Is the poster visually appealing and well-organised?
- Are the colours, fonts, and layout professional and easy to read?
- Does it effectively use graphics, images, or charts to enhance understanding?
- Is there an appropriate balance between text and visuals?
Content (5)
- Does the poster include key elements like title, introduction, methods, results, and conclusions?
- Is the information relevant and well-explained?
- Are sources and references appropriately cited?
Originality (5)
- Does the research or presentation offer a novel perspective or unique approach?
- Is there creativity in how the content is presented or framed?
Rationale (5)
- Is there a clear justification for the research?
- Does the poster explain why the research is important or how it contributes to the field?
- Are research questions, hypotheses, or objectives well-defined?
Clarity and coherence of research (5)
- Is the research clearly communicated in a logical and structured manner?
- Are findings and conclusions easy to follow?
- Does the poster effectively guide the audience through the research process?
The winner of the best poster will receive complimentary attendance at the BERA Conference 2026 and will be formally presented with a rosette on the Monday evening of the conference.
