We are back at the University of Sussex again!

This year we will be welcoming Professor Gary McCulloch as BERA President for 2017-2019. Professor McCulloch, Brian Simon Professor of History of Education at UCL Institute of Education, will be delivering his Presidential Address. Did you know we have an archive of all the Presidential Addresses from the first BERA Conference held in 1974? These are all online here.

This will also be the final year for Professor Felicity Wikeley as Chair of the Conference & Events Committee. We welcome Professor Dominic Wyse as the new Chair of the BERA Conference & Events Committee.

The BERA Conference format evolves every year. Over the past three years we have introduced new ways of presenting, creating more opportunities for audience participation – one of the main reasons delegates attend. The innovation sessions launched in 2015 have facilitated a creative approach to presenting with sessions taking place in the gardens, creative sessions, schools visits and much more.

We want to continue the success of these sessions, and we are now offering even more ways to present your research. Please read carefully the abstract submission section for the new options available.
