Constitution and Articles of Association

The Constitution was first adopted in April 1974 and was amended in September 1975, September 1976, September 1996, September 2003, September 2006, September 2007, September 2008, September 2010 and September 2012.

The Articles of Association were agreed at the AGM in September 2012 and replaced the Constitution. The Articles of Association were amended in September 2013, September 2017, September 2018 and November 2022.

Following a resolution passed at the 2024 AGM to make minor changes to BERA’s governance structure and processes in order to future-proof the organisation, the Articles will be updated. The changes agreed by the membership can be found on the 2024 AGM page in the papers of the meeting. BERA Council are working on an implementation plan for these changes.
