Writing for academic journals
Online registration has now closed. If you want to attend this event, please email events@bera.ac.uk for details of how to register onsite.
This event is aimed at independent researchers who would like to develop their skills in writing for journals. It is open to all BERA members and non-members who regard themselves as independent researchers (not permanently employed in higher education institutions).
Writing for Journals will take the form of a workshop and will be led by Pat Thomson, Professor of Education and Convenor of the Centre for Research in Arts, Creativity and Literacy at the University of Nottingham. Pat has written and presented extensively on academic writing and runs regular writing events. She has recently published ‘Detox your writing: strategies for doctoral researchers (2016, Routledge). More information about her writing work and research can be found on her blog at https://patthomson.net/.
Participants may be new to writing for journals or more experienced. All are welcome. If you decide to take part, it would be useful (though not essential) to bring along a paper you are working on.
