Opportunity: Professors and Lecturers in Education (4 posts)
The Department of Education at the University of Bath is seeking to make two appointments at professorial level and two at lecturer (Assistant Professor) level.
The Department of Education at the University of Bath is a thriving academic community with a strong national and international reputation for research that informs theory, policy and practice. Research is supported through four research clusters: Internationalisation and Globalisation of Education; Language and Educational Practices; Leadership, Management and Governance; Learning, Pedagogy and Diversity. The Department is committed to supporting excellence in research and teaching, offering both undergraduate and postgraduate (taught and research) programmes. As a result of the expansion and development of our research and teaching activities, we are seeking to make two appointments at professorial level and two at lecturer (Assistant Professor) level. The advertised posts will make a significant contribution to increasing research and teaching capacity in the Department of Education. Each postholder will be a member of one of the Department’s research clusters (with cross-cluster collaboration encouraged), contributing to the theorising of their particular area of research interest and its application in an educational context. They will be expected to contribute to teaching and supervision at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels. One of the lecturer appointments will be to the Leadership, Management and Governance research cluster, while other appointments may be to any of the clusters. It may be that one of the lecturer appointments will be in the same research area as one of the appointed Chairs (Professors).
The University of Bath is situated in the World Heritage City of Bath and is part of the GW4 group of leading universities (with Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter). Bath is 15 minutes from Bristol by train and 90 minutes from London.
