Postgraduate Forum Series 2016: Dilemmas in Educational Research
Who are these events for?
These symposia are for postgraduate and/or early career researchers in education – from those in the various stages of doctoral work, to those who just completed their doctoral thesis and wish to continue a career in academia. The aim is to provide a safe but critical ‘space’. Participants will give 10-15 minute presentations about their research with a focus on research dilemmas which could include methodology. This will be followed by constructive feedback and discussion sessions with their peers.
What will happen?
The aim of these symposia is to gather a broad spectrum of researchers to discuss their nascent research and share their triumphs, troubles and experiences. You will be able to share your experiences of designing and/or carrying out a research project. The sessions will be led by an experienced educational researcher who will help guide and structure the event, but at the core of the symposia is peer review and support. Participation will give an excellent opportunity for PGR students to learn from each other and to develop presentation skills and relevant networks. The events will run from 09.00 to 16.00 (subject to changes). Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Each will have a maximum of 10 people, to allow time for everyone to participate.
