Malissa Lewis-Francis

PhD in Education at University of Wolverhampton

Malissa Lewis-Francis, is a leader in education, budding scholar and founder of OnRoot. She has made significant achievements at the University of Wolverhampton, and is currently in the early stages of studying for a PhD in Education. Malissa’s journey at the university began when she completed a top-up degree, converting a CertEd to a BA (Hons), achieving a first-class degree. She further excelled, earning a distinction for her Master’s in Education.
Her 18 years of teaching span education provisions including mainstream, PRUs, Alternative Provisions, prisons, colleges, Adult Education and teaching abroad.
Her passion for Black History and African Studies led her to create OnRoot, a digital platform that offers online education courses. The platform, born during the 2020 lockdown, provides an insightful course on Ancient African History via YouTube and is the hub for her ongoing research.
