Opportunity: British Curriculum Forum (BCF) Steering Group members

The British Educational Research Association (BERA) is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals to join the British Curriculum Forum (BCF) Steering Group.
About the British Curriculum Forum
The BCF brings together those with an interest in collaborative curriculum, research and development. Through events, awards, and grants, the BCF supports communication and collaboration in the study and practical implementation of the curriculum in schools, colleges, and wider educational settings. The BCF plays a vital role in linking schools, colleges, universities, and practitioners, ensuring that curriculum research remains at the forefront of educational development.
The Role of the Steering Group
The BCF Steering Group is responsible for:

Overseeing BCF activities within BERA, particularly promoting the study of theoretical, innovative, and practical aspects of the curriculum.

Providing a medium for teachers and others to express opinions on curriculum matters and contributing to BERA’s consultation responses.

Enhancing collaboration between researchers, educators, and policymakers, working closely with relevant BERA Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and the BERA Teacher Network to improve BERA’s offering to teachers and practitioners

Supporting the development of events, grants, and initiatives such as the Curriculum Investigation Grant.

Where appropriate, working with BERA’s Publications Committee to assist with the strategic direction of The Curriculum Journal
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from academics, practitioners, and policymakers with expertise in curriculum studies and development. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who can:

Contribute actively to discussions on curriculum research and policy.

Help shape and deliver BCF initiatives, including events and funding opportunities.

Strengthen links between research and practice within schools, colleges, and universities.
- We strongly encourage applications from individuals across the UK, with at least one member from outside England to ensure a diverse representation of curriculum perspectives.
