BERA is calling for proposals for Research Commissions to run during the academic year 2015-2016. The purpose of the commissions is to create space to think laterally and at greater depth on issues that are relevant to the cultivation, promotion and sustainability of the study of education in the light of BERA’s mission “to encourage the pursuit of educational research and its application for both the improvement of practice and the public benefit”.

Each Commission can be funded up to £12,000 and the aim of the work is to identify and address issues of current importance to the study and practice of education which may have future consequences for the discipline and its research communities. Further details and the application form can be downloaded here.
