Publishing opportunity
The Curriculum Journal: Call for Editorial Board members
The Curriculum Journal (CJ) is seeking expressions of interest from educational researchers to join its editorial board. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic development and success of one of the leading journals in the field of education research.
As part of our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), we are looking to expand the geographical diversity of our editorial board. We particularly welcome applications from educational researchers based in areas that are currently under-represented on our board, especially those from Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Global South.
By joining the editorial board, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the journal, which publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research across a wide range of educational topics. We are especially seeking scholars who:
- Have experience in peer-reviewing educational research and preferably have reviewed for CJ.
- Bring expertise across the diverse and interdisciplinary field of education, particularly in the following areas: Curriculum theory, curriculum-making practices and issues relating to governance and policy development, teacher professional learning, assessment and pedagogy, insofar as they pertain to curriculum.
- Are passionate about promoting scholarly work from underrepresented regions and communities.
Role and responsibilities
Members of the editorial board are expected to:
- Peer review submissions: Provide quality peer review comments promptly for a number of papers each year.
- Engage with special issues: Review proposals for special issues and contribute to the selection of Editors’ Choice Awards.
- Attend board meetings: Participate in one annual virtual meeting to discuss the journal’s development and future direction.
- Promote the journal: Encourage high-quality submissions, share the journal’s work within your networks, and raise its profile through social media and other platforms.
- Support regional engagement: Assist in organising workshops on how to publish in CJ for regions with high submission rates.
New members will serve an initial one-year term. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with a global network of researchers, influence the direction of educational research, and support greater inclusion of diverse perspectives.
