Research Postgraduate (PhD) at University of Kent

Taylah Law is a ESRC SeNSS-funded PhD student in Social Policy at the University of Kent. Her PhD is an ethnographic exploration of voluntary activity in two small rural primary schools of differing levels of deprivation in south-east England. She completed both her undergraduate (where her dissertation explored teacher retention) and Master’s in Sociology at Kent and worked as a teaching assistant in a small rural primary during the Covid-19 pandemic. Alongside her PhD, she works as an A-level mentor and outreach ambassador for her university.
